This annual competition gives armchair experts the chance to cash in and show off their general knowledge, both on-air and in front of a live audience at the weekly mall activations.

Launching on air on Monday 30 January 2017, the Dis-Chem Brain of 702 will run over four weeks, with a mall activation open to the public in each region, every Saturday.

This year Menlyn Park Shopping Centre is proud to have this awesome activation at our new Central Park area.

The mechanics of the competition are simple: The first two contestants are pitted against each other on the breakfast show to answer the most, correct general knowledge questions in 60 seconds. The winner takes home R1 000 and goes through to the next round in the following show. By the end of the day, the last contestant standing is named the Brain of the Day and can claim another R1 000 Dis-Chem voucher if he or she can answer a bonus Dis-Chem question.

The Dis-Chem Brains of the Day from Monday to Friday gather Menlyn on Saturday the 18th of February from 9am-12pm. From these finalists from 70 land one winner each week earns an additional R5 000 and goes forward into the semi-final which will be held on Saturday 25 February.

The semi-final will determine the Dis-Chem Brain of 702 and they will pocket a cool R15 000 before facing off against the Brain of CapeTalk in a head to head battle on the stations’ breakfast shows on Monday, 27 February. The winner of this on-air contest will be named The Dis-Chem Brain of Brains and win an additional R20 000.

Followers of the Brain of 702 are encouraged to get to Menlyn to experience the nerve-wracking excitement of the live quiz shows ably hosted and judged by 702 presenters.

There will also be an opportunity to be quizzed by a presenter on a series of fun questions to stand in line to win spot prizes.
